Beechworth Community Christmas Lunch

The Beechworth Community Christmas Lunch is an annual event for people from the Beechworth and surrounding communities to attend on Christmas Day.

In recognising the needs in the community, the Beechworth Community Christmas Lunch provides meals for those wanting to share a meal with others and a takeaway/delivery option to eanble the community to enjoy a meal on Christmas Day.

The event is organised by a working party committee consisting of local volunteers, community organisations and Beechworth Health Service.

The lunch is a great example of local individuals, business, education settings, community and welfare organisations working together. It is this collaboration that makes the event a success.

If you, a friend or a family member would like to attend the lunch, please RSVP to Quercus Beechworth in December.

Heart Foundation Walking Group

The Heart Foundation Walking Group leaves from the old Beechworth Post Office (corner Ford St & Camp St) every Friday morning at 10am providing a weekly opportunity for people to improve their health, fitness and to connect with other members of our community.

The group is open to walkers of all fitness levels.

Changing Minds Carer Support Group

The Changing Minds Carer Support Group is an informal, social group of people who care for family members or friends who are experiencing memory loss or living with a diagnosis of dementia.

The group began as an initiative driven by local people when Beechworth became a Dementia Friendly Town. Since then the group has grown in experience and respect in providing a solid grounding of support by shared experience, education and knowledge.

The group is guided by volunteer carers with first-hand experience of travelling the journey of Dementia.

BHS supports the work of the Carer Support Group and provides administration support for the group.

The group works together with Dementia Australia and local allied health professionals to provide a comprehensive base from which carers can best manage their situation.

The group meet from 10:30am to 12.00pm, every first Wednesday of every month at The Grand Oaks - 22 Oak Ave Beechworth VIC 3747.
