Residential Aged Care

At Beechworth Health Service we take the time to understand what is important to every resident. We work with you and your family to plan care and services that meet your individual needs.

The Acacias & Stringybark Lodge

The Acacias and Stringybark Lodge provide residential aged care for 60 residents. Facilities are modern, comfortable and safe with large bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms and large windows.

Indoors, residents can spend time in the shared lounges, sitting and dining room, or enjoy the privacy of their own room.

For some fresh air and sunshine, residents can choose between courtyards and the surrounding beautiful gardens which are tended to by a full time gardener.

BHS is fully accredited to provide all levels of residential aged care (low to high care needs), as well as end-of-life (palliative) care.

If you have questions or would like to arrange a tour of our facility, please contact us for an appointment by calling 03 5728 0200.

Residential Aged Care Information

  • Respite Care

Beechworth Health Service (BHS) is committed to the service of its community with respect to access to Residential Aged Care services (RACs).

BHS offers access to both permanent and respite residential care-based options. Generally, BHS operates at a level of permanent placement occupancy that also allows access to respite care opportunities that have been preplanned or of a more urgent nature.

Due to an increase in the number of permanent placement requests being received by BHS now, the BHS Board has determined that BHS will maintain reasonable and balanced access for respite care enquires, subject to ongoing review. In doing so, BHS understands that access to respite care provides many benefits for the person seeking respite as well as for that person’s carers and family members.

BHS recognises that both permanent placement and respite care enquires benefit from being able to plan for both with certainty. BHS also knows that there is often much preplanning and decision making that accompanies such placement decisions.

BHS will continue to monitor the balance between permanent and respite care placement enquires and will seek to respond for the benefit of our community accordingly.

For all permanent and respite care placement enquires at BHS, please contact BHS’s Admission-Fees-Trust Officer Ms Bec West on email: rebecca.west@beechworthhealth.org.au Ph:03 5728 0200
