Preventing Violence Against Women

Beechworth Health Service is committed to the promotion of respectful relationships, gender equality and the demonstration of a culture of zero tolerance of violence against women.

We recognise that family violence across the life span is a complex and serious community issue. It has both immediate and long-term impacts on the physical, psychological and social health and wellbeing of those affected. Any form of family violence is unacceptable.

Mutual respect and trust are the core values of our health service. We are committed to breaking the silence around family violence in our community. Our commitment is to reduce the incidence of family violence and its impact on individuals, families, the community and the health system.

Equity & Inclusion

Equity in healthcare means that all people receive care of equal quality that is safe, effective and person-centred.

An equitable approach does not mean that everyone receives the same care, but that all people have their healthcare needs equally well met, including through removing differences in the quality, safety and accessibility of opportunities, services and rights between groups of people.

We have adopted the 'Safer Care Victoria Partnering in Healthcare Framework' to drive improvements that respond to the needs and expectation of consumers.
