Entering Residential Aged Care in Beechworth

Entry into residential aged care at Beechworth Health Service is in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Government. Any person entering aged care is required to have a valid assessment completed by the Aged Care Assessment Service specifying the type of care that has been approved.

If you are considering Beechworth Health Service as a residential care option for either yourself or a family member please contact us to arrange an appointment.

A member of our staff will meet with you and discuss the application process for applying for entry. This will include:

  • Completion of the necessary entry documents
  • The Assets assessment
  • The Rights and Responsibilities of aged care residents and providers
  • A tour of the facility and introduction to key staff
  • Financial information relating to the cost of care

In order to simplify things when a room (place/vacancy) does become available it is beneficial to provide us as much information as early as possible. You should bring with you:

  • A copy of the Aged Care Assessment or my Support Plan
  • Financial information or assessments that you may have
  • Pension cards, health care cards, Veterans’ Affairs cards – at entry
  • Anything else you think we need to know.
