Changing Minds film now on Youtube standard

As a part of our Changing Minds project we set out to capture our project and its progress on film. We are pleased to say that we have uploaded the finished product to Youtube. There are two clips available for viewing; a 4 minute one that provides an overview of our project and a longer one that goes into greater detail. Successful AGM standard

On 19th November we held our Annual General Meeting which was attended by more than 50 people. We were delighted to announce  Alyson Scott as this year's winner of the Jan Webb Award for Excellence. Alyson who works in our Acute unit was frequently recognised by her colleagues and patients as someone who models our values of respect, unity, innovation, excellence  and integrity. Congratulations Alyson. Just as pleasing was the announcement of Food Services as the winners of the Group Award for Excellence and Innovation for their efforts during the installation of a new kitchen floor that saw them maintain full meal production and delivery throughout the installation process.  Those present heard a great presentation from Kim Wright on our Changing ...

Building Resilience standard

Educators from Beechworth Primary School, Wooragee Primary School, St Josephs Primary School Beechworth, Beechworth Montessori School, Beechworth Community Childcare Centre, Beechworth Kindergarten, Yackandandah Kindergarten and Dederang Primary School have come together to learn more about fostering resilience for the children in our community with a professional development session from The Resilience Project. In attendance were 60 of our local educators, 130 parents / carers and 380 primary school students who heard and learnt about fostering good mental health and happiness through practising gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and kindness. A special mention to our Health Promotion staff member Gabriella Tange for organising this extremely successful event. A Busy September standard

September has been Dementia Awareness Month and during this time we have been busy conducting and participating in a number of dementia-related activities. Through the great work of Anna Mackinlay and her role in Indigo's Changing Minds project we have facilitated dementia training for community members and local businesses to fulfil our goal of Beechworth being a dementia-friendly community. The launch of Beechworth Neighbourhood Centre's Photo Journal was a powerful and moving way of illustrating the effects of dementia on local people and their families. We also continue with our own Changing Minds project within Beechworth Health Service where we are implementing a model of care based upon the 12 Montessori principles.
