Visit from Sharon Knight MP Parliament Secretary Human Services standard

Beechworth turned the weather on for the visit from Sharon Knight today at BHS to officially recognise and inspect the progress of the Beechworth Health Service, Significant Aged Care Refurbishment Project underway at present. The refurbishment includes the conversion of 12 shared bathrooms to 24 ensuite bathrooms This will improve available amenities for the residents at the health service. BHS lead the growth of Female Board Directors standard

Beechworth Health Service are leading  the growth of female Board Directors with 7 of 11 Directors being female. Standing up to violence against women standard

BHS is currently working towards accreditation as a White Ribbon Workplace. White Ribbon Workplaces promote respectful relationships and gender equality within the workplace and demonstrate a culture of zero tolerance of violence against women. In Australia, one in five women experience harassment within the workplace. White Ribbon Workplaces are committed to changing workplace culture to prevent abuse of and violence against women. The White Ribbon Accreditation Program involves assessment against 15 compulsory criteria under three standards. BHS will be required to demonstrate effective leadership, resource allocation, communication, HR policy development and training - all of which support employees to be respectful across all areas of our service.
